Luftstation
The imposing 17 meter high Luftstation stands there, like an iron insect from another world,
fallen from the sky. Luftstation is the new artistic challenge of öff öff productions. It is an
impressive metal construction in which many exciting oppositions unite. Its symmetry tips
into asymmetry through the impact of the weight of a human body climbing on it. Despite
its huge mass of several tons of metal, it gives a peculiarly light impression and although
the stories that happen upon it play up in the heights, the power of gravity is ever present.
At the Luftstation the space between the ground and the heights will be worked on by the
artists searching and finding the balance on the big, gracious metal wings. The balance will
be found, skilfully kept a moment only to be lost or consciously let go of again. The artists
will climb throughout the structures listening to the metal, accommodating it or struggling
to impose their wills and precision onto the Luftstation through the use of their body weight.
Their partners are centrifugal force, turning points, swing, dead points and weight. With
these forces, each other and the metal, the artists will agree or struggle to tame the heavy
dynamics of the metal monster.
